San Francisco Office of Early Care and EducationHead Start Needs Assessment data Homeless Data: • Family shelter occupancy is at 100% all the time • 59 single family rooms in 3 full-service shelters (3-6 months) • Emergency Shelter – total capacity of 54 • Family winter shelter – 50 mats • Family overflow shelter – 20 mats • ACCESS program for children 0-3 from homeless families – approx. 50 children age out of this program each year • Head Start/Early Head Start model is great fit for at-risk families served through ACCESS
