National University of Singapore (NUS) is internationally acknowledged as one of the finest universities in the Asia-Pacific region and is currently rated in the top 30 Universities in the world. It is the oldest and largest University in Singapore for student enrolment and curriculum offered, with over 3000 students from 100 countries across the Globe. With 14 Faculties and Schools, NUS offers a broad scope of disciplines which mirror those at King’s. An overarching agreement was signed in 2008 that built on existing links in place since the two institutions began collaborations in 2002.

  4. As a research intensive university with entrepreneurial dimension, National university of Singapore has ranked consistently as one of the world’s top universities. National University of Singapore (NUS) gained its reputation and recognition because of its consistency and relentlessness in doing the following:

  5. 1) Organisation and management: organizational excellence: Since 1998, OED has earned accolades and recognition as a forward looking and dynamic organisation. As we journey towards the NUS Service Class standard, the awards we have garnered in the past will provide us with the momentum to push ahead to further excel in serving our customers. Our achievements are listed in table below

  6. Office of the Deputy President (Research & Technology) High Impact research that advances the boundaries of knowledge and contributes to the betterment of society.

  7. 2) Faculties • a. Engineering: Best paper award at international design and manufacturing: The Faculty of Engineering’s mission is to nurture Engineer-Leaders with a global perspective and to lead in technology through high-impact research. Established in 1968, the Faculty of Engineering has contributed substantially to the rapid industrial and economic growth of the nation while continuing to contribute to a knowledge-based economy. It is the largest of the 14 faculty.

  8. b. Law: Asia’s global Law school: The National University of Singapore Faculty of Law is widely regarded as Asia’s leading law school. Staffed by an outstanding permanent faculty diverse in origin and qualifications, NUS Law is dedicated to building a vibrant community and creating an environment that facilitates critical thinking and reflection on the fundamental legal issues confronting our interconnected world. 

  9. c. NUS Business school: Leading from Asia. NUS Business School has consistently received top rankings in the Asia-Pacific region by independent publications and agencies such as The Financial Times, Economist Intelligence Unit, and QS Top MBA, in recognition of the quality of its program, faculty research and graduates. The Financial Times ranked the NUS MBA, the Asia Pacific Executive MBA and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) - NUS Executive MBA 23rd, 19th and 9th respectively, in the world in 2011/2012.

  10. 3. Library facilities: The NUS Libraries comprises seven libraries, six of which are located at Kent Ridge. The C J Koh Law Library is located at Bukit Timah. Together, they support teaching and research for various departments, faculties and their graduate divisions in addition to other administrative/research/service units.

  16. 5. Students admission and qualifications- Admission is based on academic merit as well as open competition among all eligible applicants. In addition to fulfilling admission requirements for the applicant category that student belong to, they have to also ensure that they fulfill the subject prerequisites for the courses to which they wish to be admitted for.

  17. IN CONCLUSION WE CAN SAY THAT ALL OF ABOVE FACTORS AND SOME MORE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE OF THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE
