  3. Courses of Study • Location of all courses of study—including new ones for Foreign Languages, English/Language Arts, Driver’s Education and Art Education • Lessons and web links for each standard • Key indicating ARMT, AHSGE or Direct Assessment of Writing standard

  4. Personal Workspace • Must have a User Name and Password to Login and use (see ALEX Help for instructions) • Create lesson plans with standards documented and instantly available at all times • Create a website using Word (can you type, right click and Insert?)

  5. Personal WorkspaceWeb Page Using Word • Center your title (WordArt on Drawing toolbar) • Table – Insert Table – for calendar, schedule, etc. • Insert – Hyperlink – email on left side • Format – Background • Insert – Picture from file • Insert - clipart

  6. Web Links • This feature has been added to the Courses of Study Standards

  7. Professional Learning • Links for grants, listservs, professional development, tips and tricks, etc.

  8. Lesson Plans • This is a list of lessons listed by name not by standards

  9. Distance Learning • Information on ACCESS (Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide)—web-based courses offered

  10. Search • Search a specific topic

  11. Help • How to create an ALEX account, instructions on how to create a lesson plan, template of lesson plan information, joining an ALEX listserv, etc.

  12. Be Adventurous! • Try one new technology feature this semester or this year to incorporate • Locate one ALEX lesson plan to use in a lesson you already teach • Create and save one lesson on your ALEX Personal Workspace this year • Create your own ALEX housed website
