    8. On the day of judgement Allah will show forgiveness and mercy to.... ...those who show mercy and forgiveness to their fellow humans. Muslims are taught that if they want to go to paradise on the Day of Judgment they must have shown mercy/forgiveness to others.

    9. UR Muslims recognise they are all part of the UMMAH and so should have good relationships with each other.

    10. Muhammad taught that people should forgive and reconcile so... ...they should follow by example and follow his teachings.

    11. There are many teachings in the Qur’an about forgiveness and reconciliation.... ‘If a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from God’ (Surah 42:40) ‘A kind word with forgiveness is better than charity followed by injury’ (Surah 2:263) These mean... The Qur’an is full of passages about the forgiveness of Allah and of his instructions that Muslims should also forgive. It is important they follow the will of Allah. ‘Live as fellow brothers and sisters, as Allah has commended you’ (Hadith)

    12. Forgiveness on hajj… UR Watch the following clips – pick TWO examples from HAJJ and use them as EXAMPLES for two of your POINTS on why forgiveness is important to Muslims. One very important way in which Muslims follow the teachings on forgiveness and reconciliation is during HAJJ. http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningzone/clips/introduction-to-hajj-the-fifth-pillar-of-islam/3257.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningzone/clips/hajj-day-two/3259.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/learningzone/clips/hajj-day-three/3261.html

    13. Before going on Hajj A Muslim is expected to purify themselves. As part of this they must make peace with those they have fallen out with and ask for forgiveness from those they we have wronged. The IHRAM worn are a symbol of this purity. All Muslims wear the same to show equality and brotherhood as part of the UMMAH (The worldwide Muslim community). IHRAM = a state of being sacred. The white robes show equality and selflessness.
