  2. The Balanced Christian Life • Are you so heavenly minded that you are of no earthly use? • Are you so earthly minded that you are of no heavenly use? • If so, then your spiritual life is out of balance.

  3. The Balanced Christian Life • Christianity is a relationship • Our relationship with Jesus Christ must continue to grow • As our relationship with Jesus grows, so does our relationship with others • This results in a vibrant and balanced Christian life

  4. The Wheel Illustration

  5. The Volitional Dimension(How you relate to yourself) • The hub: Christ the center Making Christ central in our life is an act of our will. Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. • The rim: Obedience to Christ Internal acts of obedience, such as attitudes, habits, motives, sense of values, and day-to-day thoughts, eventually surface in our relationships with other people. The proof of your love for God is your demonstrated obedience to Him. John 14:21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.

  6. The Vertical Dimension(How you relate to God) • The Word spoke A vital personal intake of God’s word is essential for health and growth. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…. (also Joshua 1:8) • The prayer spoke Prayer is sharing your heart with the one who longs for our companionship and who cares about our concerns. Philippians 4:6,7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guards your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

  7. The Horizontal Dimension(How you relate to others) • The fellowship spoke God has directed Christians to build each other up through inter-dependence and loving relationships with each other. Hebrews 10:24,25 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching. • The witnessing spoke God has given believers the privilege and responsibility of reaching the world with the good news about Christ. Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then for the Gentile.
