Being a CFA himself, Pieter understands that earning a CFA designation from its sponsor, the CFA institute, requires extensive knowledge of financial markets and that the process can take several years to complete if the applicant isn’t dedicated enough. Pieter Stalenhoefexplains that anyone who has a bachelor’s degree or is in their final year at a four-year college, or has at least four years of experience making investment decisions is eligible for the Level I examination. A combination of the above mentioned criterion is also acceptable for the first test. Notable, all the levels of the CFA exam are offered in the month of June and the students are advised to spend at least 300 hours preparing for it.
