  4. How to Calculate Q10 at Different Temperature Intervals • Q10 = k2 (10/t2 – t1) • k1 • k2 = rate at higher temperature • k1 = rate at lower temperature • t2 = higher temperature • t1 = lower temperature • (usually falls between 2-3, rounded to whole number)

  5. Q10 Example • The heart rate of daphnia at 10o C is 152 bpm. • At 15o C, the heat rate rises to 211 bpm. • Calculate the Q10 • Q10 = k2 (10/t2 – t1) = 211 (10/15 – 10) = (1.39)2 = 1.93 • k1 115
