  1. SOX THE CATIN… MY TRIP TO YELLOW RIVER- OR -THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME

  2. When I heard people say that Tim got a new car, I figured that my ride down would be really comfortable. It wasn’t.

  3. Once we got to the campsite, Tim accepted that I was there and let me pick the music and have some apple juice. At least he said it was juice.

  4. Tim even let me help out as he set up his tent.

  5. I think he had too much juice, because he missed the stake…a couple of times.

  6. When the tent was up, I wandered around the campgrounds. There was a bridge nearby…

  7. …and while the view was really nice…

  8. …I didn’t enjoy bungee jumping as much as Tim thought I would.

  9. I did like climbing the tree he called ‘Mory’ (even though it smelled way different than the Mory in the office does).

  10. I also liked climbing other nearby trees. It was way more fun that hanging out on top of the filing cabinets.

  11. While there were things I liked a lot about the campsite, the litter box was not one of them. I think multiple cats used this thing.

  12. On the second morning, some of Tim’s friends made breakfast. Mmm…that bacon smells good. I’m gonna get a little closer.

  13. Ow. A little too close.

  14. Later that day, some people decided to play badminton and invited me to join in.

  15. I wasn’t very good, though, and kept hitting the birdie at the ground.

  16. This seemed to upset the other players.

  17. A lot.

  18. A whole lot.

  19. A couple of days later, Tim said he’d let me try some beer if I got in the creek with him. Mr. Roush always speaks highly of beer, so I thought it’d be worth it.

  20. Everything was a ‘go’ for my first trip into the water.

  21. The creek turned out to be very cold…

  22. … and icky.

  23. Tim made good on his promise, though, and shared a 40oz beer with me.

  24. I may have had too much.

  25. After my beer nap, Tim wrung me out and put me out in the sun to dry.

  26. That afternoon, a dog came by. I thought we’d be friends.

  27. The dog had other plans.

  28. I was still not very dry by that evening, so I hung out by the fire. Mmm…the fire is nice and warm. I think I’ll get a little bit closer.

  29. Ow. A little too close.

  30. All in all, I was happy to leave Yellow River and return to civilization. Tim said that before I came back to Supervalu, I’d have to take a bath or two.

  31. But after a few trips through the washer, I’m fresh as a daisy and ready to return to work. Can’t wait to see you all there.

  32. THE END
