    11. One final point, a computer is required to control the Turbocor compressors magnetic bearings. Because this computer is used, the Turbocor compressor can provide, very cost effectively, a level of monitoring and diagnostics that was simply unaffordable in yesterdays technology. Here are examples of the monitor and diagnostics power thats available and why we say that this is a computer that thinks its a compressor. By simply plugging a laptop computer into the compressors serial port, or by using the internet connection option - the web, this is the kind of information that is readily available. Information like the suction and discharge temperatures. The kW draw of the motor. The shaft speed just to name a few. And because its a computer any of this information and much, much more can be logged and graphed; grafts that can display evaporator and condensing temperatures, kW, speed, to name a few. One final point, a computer is required to control the Turbocor compressors magnetic bearings. Because this computer is used, the Turbocor compressor can provide, very cost effectively, a level of monitoring and diagnostics that was simply unaffordable in yesterdays technology. For example, if we click on the magnetic bearing one can see exactly how tightly the bearings are being able to maintain the shaft in the magnetic center of the bearings. This screen represents the width of a human hair and we are controlling, as you can see, to less than a 1/10th of that. And by clicking on the pictorial tabs across the top of the screen service or maintenance personnel can access specific data for the motor, the bearings, the electronic expansion valves, again, just to name a few. For example, if we click on the magnetic bearing one can see exactly how tightly the bearings are being able to maintain the shaft in the magnetic center of the bearings. At a glance one can see where the compressor is spending the majority of its operating hours. And how many times have owners or system designers wished they had this information?     14. Plus, this compressor provide something that no other centrifugal, even tied to sophisticated building automation system, can not provide the ability to see the compressors operating map. The compressor map similar to what we talked about previously in this video. A compressor map that allows a service tech to see exactly where one is operating: what speed, what pressure ratio, the mass flow rate, and where the system would run into surge. These are all things service techs and operators have wanted to see but never had access to with older technologies. Plus, this compressor provide something that no other centrifugal, even tied to sophisticated building automation system, can not provide the ability to see the compressors operating map. The compressor map similar to what we talked about previously in this video.
