UID Update • All Near Matches should have been resolved by March 21st • Remember to check the UID system daily for new near matches • Records that needed correction in NCWISE: • Updating the Race and Ethnicity in NCWISE • Corrections should have been made by March 15th • DPI is working through the process of removing duplicate batches. LEAs will be notified when a process is in place.

  5. April Child Count • April Child Count: April 1 – April 12 • NCWISE IDs must be valid and accurate

  6. Change to IEP • During the Policy Updates at the EC Directors’ Institute in March, Directors were given a clarification of the requirement under IDEA for “A statement of the special education and related services...to be provided to the child...” • The description “Special Education” is considered to be too broad.

  7. Plan Screens - Special Education will be removed from the list on 4/15/2013

  8. DEC4 - Special Education will be removed from the list on 4/15/2013

  9. CECAS and PowerSchool • CECAS will be the authoritative source of EC data and all EC Counts will continue to be processed in CECAS. • PowerSchool will be the authoritative source of demographic data.

  10. CECAS and PowerSchool–Data Flow • All students must be entered into PowerSchool first. • Student demographic data will feed from PowerSchool to CECAS and Reporting User systems. • CECAS Daily Users will enter EC data into CECAS as usual. • Reporting User systems will feed EC data to CECAS for students. • CECAS will feed basic EC data to PowerSchool. • Child counts will be done in CECAS.

CECAS and PowerSchool • Known issues that are being discussed: • Student transfers between LEAs • Load of historical basic EC data into PowerSchool • Things to know: • CFO pulls the number of students actively receiving EC Services on a periodic basis • CECAS will receive EC data on a daily basis from Reporting Users (3rd party LEAs)
