  2. I am an American Alligator, I weigh 455kg. I am 4-5m long. I have a big body and 4 legs with 3 toes on all 4 feet. I have a big wide head with 80 sharp teeth, 40 on top, 40 on the bottom. I have a big long spiky tail that takes up to half of my body length. I am slow moving on land, but very quick in the water. Appearance

  3. My home is the wetlands, fresh water ponds, marshes, rivers and swamps. I build my nest out of wet grass and plants and dirt. I am mainly found in Louisiana and Florida. You’ll also find me in South Texas, N and S Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. Habitat

  4. I love everything in my habitat. Here are some of the things that I eat: birds, snakes, turtles, fish, mammals and domestic livestock. Diet

  5. When mating season comes my mate and I lay 20-60 eggs in my nest. My mate’s gestation period is around 2 months. The mating season starts in April and lasts until May. Reproduction

  6. My babies look the same as me but have big eyes and no teeth. They stay with me and my mate for 5 months before they’re big enough and independent to go in the wild. Care of offspring

  7. I am the biggest and most deadliest in my habitat so I have no natural enemies. If I do ever feel threatened I will use my giant tail and big teeth for defence I can swim away quickly. I can warn other males with my deep -toned roar. Natural enemies

  8. Yes, I am threatened because people have killed 10 million of my kind for our skin. With sea levels rising there is too much saltwater, I need fresh water. Also, my kind were hunted for meat before 1970. Are you endangered?
