  2. White Fur Black Fur

  3. Sex Determination X = Female Chromosome Y = Male Chromosome

  4. Dominant Allele vs. Recessive Allele Some alleles can be dominant (they will always show up) and some are recessive (these will only show up if both alleles are the same) Example: B = black fur, b = white fur

  5. Genotype = the combination of alleles that an organism has Phenotype = the characteristic produced by the genotype Homozygous = having two identical alleles (e.g. HH, hh, BB, bb, KK, kk) Heterozygous = having two different alleles (e.g. Hh, Bb, Kk)

  6. Q1. Julie’s GENOTYPE is ‘RR’. What is her PHENOTYPE? Q2. Jenny’s GENOTYPE is ‘Rr’. What is her PHENOTYPE? Q3. Kyle is not a tongue roller. What is his GENOTYPE? Q4. Whose GENOTYPE is heterozygous? a) Julie b) Jenny c) Kyle Q5. Whose GENOTYPE is homozygous? a) Julie b) Jenny c) Kyle
