  5. So, all of these famous people have what in common? Paul Shaffer, bandleader on David Letterman Show Dan Aykroyd Robin Williams Joe Theisman, NFL quarterback Brian Jordan, Atlanta Braves Ahmad Rashad, Sportscaster

  7. Sociology = Understanding Society as a social scientist • People with degrees in sociology enter many careers. • What is common to all of these careers? Underlying sociological training is the commitment to understand human relationships in social groups. • Sociology research and theory seeks to explain prevailing social behavior patterns and how they change over time.

  9. Why Sociology ?? A bachelor's degree in sociology provides an excellent liberal arts foundation for embarking on the wide range of career paths. Sociology majors who enter the business world work in sales, marketing, customer relations, or human resources. Those who enter human services work with youth at risk, the elderly, or people experiencing problems related to poverty, substance abuse, or the justice system.
