  2. RELEASE NOTE FOR COMPASS GPS COMPASS GPS OCTOBER 2018 NEW IN THIS VERSION INTRODUCING PRO LINK CONNECTOR With the launch of PRO LINK Connector, Widex will now fill the gap, so with the PRO LINK Connector added to PRO LINK you will be able to fit non-WidexLink hearing aids (CIC-Micro) with COMPASS GPS. The PRO LINK Connector will replace WidexLink Connector. NEW ACCESSORY: TV PLAY The new TV PLAY, made for EVOKE hearing aids with a Bluetooth connection (F2), lets your client hear the sound from the TV directly in their hearing aids. Once the hearing aids and the TV PLAY have been paired, all your client needs to do is select the TV program from the app, and the sound from the TV will be streamed directly to the hearing aids. From COMPASS GPS you can register the TV PLAY, and you can install the latest firmware in the TV PLAY. You can also update the firmware in EVOKE F2 hearing aids to support the TV PLAY. IMPROVED FEEDBACK MANAGEMENT Feedback cancelling mode For EVOKE hearing aids, you now have an extra option under Feedback cancelling mode. The Supergain fast setting temporarily provides very fast feedback suppression and gain increase. This setting should be used for clients who want a minimal risk of feedback, for instance when hugging a person or putting on a hat. RELEASE NOTE | 2

  3. RELEASE NOTE FOR COMPASS GPS COMPASS GPS OCTOBER 2018 Start-up mode For EVOKE, BEYOND and UNIQUE hearing aids, a new feature is available under User controls. Start-up mode lets you define how your client’s hearing aids should start up to avoid feedback. By default, the hearing aids start up with a more aggressive feedback suppression during the first 12 seconds. You can increase the time period to 24 seconds, or you can turn off the feature. ALSO WORTH NOTING SOUNDSENSE ADAPT The default setting of the SoundSense Adapt feature has been changed. The feature is now not active by default. Under Setup you can choose to activate the feature for all new fittings. VERIFICATION TOOL FOR EVOKE With this version of COMPASS GPS you have access to a Verification tool for EVOKE hearing aids. The feature is found under FINE TUNING and lets you activate the two test modes Normal adaptive test mode which is used for real-ear or test box measurements with modulated speech signals, and Non-adaptive test mode, which is used for real-ear or coupler measurements with unmodulated test signals, or when measuring aided thresholds with narrow-band signals. QR CODE FOR TONELINK APP The hearing aid user guide that you can print from COMPASS GPS now contains a QR code for the ToneLink app for EVOKE hearing aids. This QR code contains relevant information about the programming of the hearing aids, which is used to configure the app. All your client needs to do is scan the QR code, and the ToneLink app will know, for instance, which programs are defined in the hearing aids.
