Plot of Chapters 1-12 • Noldor leave under Feanor and Fingolfin • Teleri refuse to go or help build ships • At Alquelonde, Kinslaying, Feanor’s elves kill Teleri while stealing ships • Feanor does not send ships back for Fingolfin’s group, have to walk • Galadriel helps Fingolfin to get across ice (also not part of Kinslaying)
