  7. In school... • Examples shown by the teacher • Use of guides developed to teach both GIS and geography • ArcView 3.2 installed on school computers • 60 new computers with ArcGIS 8.2

  11. What have we done? • Distance measuring of Copenhagen • Local area surrounding our school • Geological development of the Earth • Projects – earthquakes and hurricanes • GPS-data • 2nd year field trip to Italy

  12. Future opportunities • PDA and smartphones will bloom • The community will cooperate to create more and better data • High School Reform 2005 – cross subjects • Students take an active role in geography, as well as in other subjects and projects

  13. Wrapped up • The ability to use GIS is depending on materials from school and community • It can easily be incorporated in high school • It will evolve
