  7. Message Receipt • HTTPS is always available • Messages can be stored into any format • ODBC table inserts can store messages directly into a database

  8. Message Acknowledgement • Messages are acknowledged in real time • Message acknowledgement can include data specific responses from an interaction with a database • Acknowledgement does not require the sending system to have a message server

  9. Message Parsing • The visual message definition is used to parse the message according to the implementation guide • Messages are parsed into an HL7-friendly record format
