  4. “NEW” Broad Changes • CCA – introduction of SIAs • CIP – service learning • School Graduation Certificate (2008) – holistic report card covering both academic and non-academic achievements and personal qualities.

  5. “NEW” Broad Changes • Integrated Programmes – Pre-U without ‘O’s, IBs etc. More flexi and less structured, broader learning exp. • Bicultural Studies programme(Chinese) & SAP Scholarship (fr Sec to Pre U2) • Elective Programme in ML (EMAS)

  6. “NEW” Broad Changes • ML / CL Special Programmes – as a 3rd lang. Open to all Sec 1 in 2007. • Foreign Lang Programme • Art Elective Programme • Music Elective Programme

  7. Changes to Special/Express • Greater controls of ‘O’ levels – to align with our curriculum • New ‘O’ level subjects – greater choice & develop niches • Ease in eligibility for HMTL • Ease in eligibility for MTL ‘B’ & exemption

  8. Changes to Special/Express • Teaching & Learning of CL – format changes, use of electronic dictionaries and Lit in Chinese as elective in Comb Hum. • Teaching & Learning of ML – changes to format. • Teaching & Learning of TL - changes to format.

  9. Changes to Normal (Academic) • Maximum of ‘O’ Level subjects when they are at 4N. • Introduction of elective modules by schools • Through Train Programme to Sec 5 without ‘N’ Level

  10. Changes to Normal (Technical) • Max of 2 NA subjects • Revised NT Curriculum (2007) – more practice-oriented learning. • Elective Modules – may even link to post-secondary institutions • Lateral transfers for top NT pupils
