Administrative Enforcement Taxicab Passenger Enhancement Program (TPEP) Administrative Summonses TLC issued over 5,000 summons and settlements for violations including overcharges, failure to appropriately employ EZ Pass, operating a taxicab while suspended, and others Technology has changed how TLC prosecutes these infractions - causing the cost of information to fall and, in some instances, eliminating this cost altogether Customer Service/Lost Property TPEP has allowed the TLC to better locate passengers’ lost property In 2010, TPEP helped over 250 people find irreplaceable lost items left behind in cabs As part of the City’s “Apple Seed” project, TLC used an iPad to locate lost property outside of normal business hours
