2. About Us Amalgamated Steel Fasteners is aleading manufacturer and supplier of high quality fasteners. With industry studies showing that 80% of steel building failure are as a result of poor quality fasteners, the need for top quality products is more important than ever. ASF is a quality assured organisation offering competitively priced fasteners of the highest standard. Our fasteners conform to all international specifications and standards such as AS, ANSI, BS, DIN, ISO and JIS. All ASF products are put through rigorous and stringent quality-control measures, providing buyers with the peace of mind and assurance that their steel structures will not be compromised by poor corrosion protection, inferior quality and poor workmanship. ASF also has a hardware rigging division that manufactures wire ropes, slings and rigging accessories.  Its 3600 square metre factory is equipped with friction and punch machines, oil pressing machines, testing apparatus as well as heat treatment and polishing machines. Areas of Specialisation Self Drilling Screws • ASF manufactures and supplies – Self Drilling and Tapping Screws in Stainless Steel, Inconel, Copper, Bi-Metal and Carbon Steels together with a full range of coatings including Ruspert, Dacromet and mechanical platings for corrosion prevention management as well as various colour coatings. • ASF manufactures and supplies - Hot and Cold forged High Tensile and Mild Steel Bolts, Nuts and Washers with various coatings such as electro galvanized, hot dipped galvanized and zinc platings. Nuts and Bolts • ASF manufactures and supplies - Cable Bracing, Cable Terminals and Hillside Washers used when assembled as a primary member suitable to insure stability of a pre-engineered building against weather forces such as wind and earthquakes. Cable Bracing Anchor Bolts • ASF manufactures and supplies - Anchor Bolts, Threaded Rods in a variety of grades such as Carbon Steel A36 (Grade 4.6) or A 449 (Grade 8.8) and Stainless Steel. 4. Quality Cycle – Self Drilling Screws • Primary Steel measured and material certification checked and logged by Production Operator. • QC randomly selects pieces at random and actions a 2nd check. • QC conducts visual checks and reviews specification data from outsourced companies. • Additional testing carried out such as Salt Spray Testing. • Production Operator arranges secure packing of fasteners to customers requirements. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 • QC logs product readiness for heat treatment. • 2nd check carried out on dimensions. • QC checks for conformity to hardness requirements and reviews core and case hardness values against primary steel certificate. • QC selects random fasteners and conducts function tests for 100% compliance to required specification and this is recorded in detail.
