  2. CMS week Jul 8-12 • CMS Plenary (Monday 8) • Status of LS1 (TBD) 40’ • Presentation of phase 2 scenarios (Francesca) 40’ • Other Sessions In parallel with TC Plenary • Upgrade simulation studies (David, Frank, Marcus Paolo) Wednesday 9:00-12:30 Physics Plenary Session Thursday 14:00-18:00 • Snowmass Whitepaper approvals Parallel Sessions • TPSWG (Oliver, Wesley) Thursday 8:30-10:30 • FDWG (Marcello, Roger) Thursday 10:30-13:30 • FCAL TF (Brad, Randy) Thursday 17:00-19:00 • Upgrade Plenary Wednesday 13:30-16:00 https://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=260461 • Introduction 25+5’ • Status of HCAL longevity studies 25+5’ • Report from TPSWG 25+5’ • Report from FDWG 25+5’ • Summary of Upgrade simulation studies 25+5’

  3. ECFA HL-LHC Experiments WorkshopOct. 1-3 • Registration is open https://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=252045 • Abstracts for submission to the Program Committee by end of Jun. • will be uploaded in CINCO

  4. Next for 2013 RRB Document • The Document • Considerations • We are specifically asked for cost estimate and profile for Phase 2 • Document will outline the scope and process to define it (longevity, studies, cost and TC considerations), and provide cost scale • Not intended to be equivalent to Atlas LOI or pre-empt our TP in 2014 • Document must encompass what will be in the TP • Content • Introduce the document and the process (towards TP and TDRs) consideration for scope… • Overview of physics program and motivations for upgrades • Longevity issues (how much detail?) • Scenarios and options under consideration • Describe subsystems conceptual designs and R&D status and needs • Discuss TC and common system considerations • Present cost and schedule

  5. Next for 2013 RRB Document • Timeline • Present the document outline at MB/FB on July 4/5 (next week) • Initial cost information by July 2 (status report at MB/FB) – see later this meeting • Meeting with each area to scrub cost estimates in middle two weeks of July. This will be a fairly intense period. • V1 DRAFT document and cost exercise presented to MB July 29 • Update with simulation studies - see later this meeting • Release to collaboration in mid August  approval at Taipei Sept 9 • Final update with studies for ECFA workshop Oct 1-3

  6. Towards the Technical Proposal Goal: submit document at LHCC meeting Sep 2014 , and RRB Oct • Must be in CWR in July Use Upgrade Weeks: Oct 21, 2013 - Apr 7, 2014 - Sep 1, 2014 • Next Upgrade Week in Oct is 1/3 of the way there from now! • We need to scope the document appropriately Propose to: • Organize October Upgrade Week sessions/plenaries to sections of the TP • Must also give more time to Phase 1 • Aim for not much more than 200 pages [?]. Proposed layout might be • main body: the message - overview and studies, cost & schedule… • technical appendices on simulations, Tracker, Endcap….etc • Make DocDB repository for relevant documents • Post-DESY summaries: so far - ECAL, FDWG, FCTF… • RRB(2013) document and backup info • Working notes towards TP
