Motivation • Communicating obstacle between devices in beacon-enabled and nonbeacon-eabled PANs. • The beacon-based applications and nonbeacon-based applications need to coexist and collaborate. • Extension of a PAN is confined in a single mode now: beacon-enabled or nonbeacon-enabled. • We can achieve the coexistence by enhancing the function of several special devices.   8. Case 1: The Connection Device is both a device in beacon-enabled network and a coordinator in nonbeacon-enabled network.   10. Coexistence Promiscuous PAN: & Connection Device • Communication - In the promiscuous PAN, a device is able to talk to any other device without changing its beacon mode. Summary • Separating beacon-enabled PAN and nonbeacon-enabled PAN is unnecessary. • Use “connection devices” to connect two kinds of PANs. • Based on “connection devices”, “promiscuous PAN” become a pretty solution for coexistence and communication between different devices. • It brings almost no change to current Std, such as MAC function and command.
