  3. Objectives My plan is to share a variety of Health and Physical Education information, ideas and activities that I have found or created over the years with the hope that you may use or modify some of them to create positive learning experiences for your students.

  4. Specifically Today • I would like to teach a progression of parachute- based activities that require cooperation, communication, reinforce physical skills and concepts along with key vocabulary words. • All of this will be interspersed with a few musical movement activities.

  6. Switcheroo Objective: To move from 1 parachute to another when your color is called. Concepts: ~ clockwise ~ counterclockwise

  8. Critter Grab Objective: Work with your group to toss the critter in the air and take turns catching it with your hands.

  9. Critter Soup Objective: How many critters can your group accumulate by working together to toss the critter in the air and take turns catching it with your hands.

  10. Stealing Critters for Soup Objective: To see which group can accumulate the most critters by: • “stealing” critters from other groups • working together to toss the critters in the air • taking turns catching them with your hands.

  11. Soup Line Objective: How many critters can the entire group accumulate by using parachutes to toss and catch the critters from chute-to-chute?

  12. Chicken Coops Objective: Using 6 hoops, each group cooperatively constructs a chicken coop. Upon completion, each group member must crawl through the coop without knocking it down. If it collapses, the group starts again. Extension: How many ways can you move through the coop?
