  2. 　　遠古時代的秘密被鎖在巨厚岩層之中，有人可惜無緣一窺堂奧，也有人總識不破英雄真面目；只有慧眼巧思者，把握住天賜良緣，終能為世人開啟通往過去時光的神奇大門：恐龍，一整個消失的族類，也是一整個輝煌的年代！

  4. 1824年英國牛津大學的巴克蘭 (Bukland) 命名第一隻恐龍「斑龍」(巨型的化石蜥蜴) 並做科學性的描述； 1825年英國業餘化石迷孟德爾醫生 (G. Mantell) 命名了第二隻恐龍「禽龍」(鬣蜥蜴的牙齒)，也是第一隻被命名的植食性恐龍；1842年英國古生物學家歐文 (Richard Owen) 才率先使用「恐龍」(Dinosauria) 一詞，意思是「恐怖的蜥蜴」。

  5. 　　十九世紀末期，美國古生物學家寇普 (E. D. Cope) 和馬許 (O. C. Marsh) 以幾乎是惡性競爭的方式，各自砸下大筆投資與畢生心力，陸續在美西發現百種以上的恐龍種類，也掀起研究與挖掘恐龍的風潮。之後在世界各地都有恐龍的發現，北自格稜蘭，南至南極大陸，各大洲都有。目前發現的恐龍已將近三百個屬，由此推估全球可能曾有超過一千個屬以上的恐龍生存過。
