  2. Direct Objects & Pronouns: • Remember that the subject, and in spanish, the verb ending tell us who does the action. • The direct object of a sentence is the person or thing that receives that action. • When referring to a direct object that has already been named and is understood, we often replace the noun with a direct object pronoun which helps us refer to the person or thing receiving the action but in a much quicker & precise manner.

  3. Por ejemplo: • Marta ayuda a Carla.(Martha helps Carla.) • Whois Marta helping? Replacea Carlawith the direct obj. pronounla and now you have: Marta la ayuda. (Martha helps her.) Nota: the direct obj. pronoun usually is placed directly infront of the main, conjugated verb.

  4. Otros ejemplos: When the direct object has information words describing it, all those words can be replaced by the one direct object pronoun. Mira: La maestra tiene muchos libros en su salón. (The teacher has a lot of books in her/his classroom.) Whatdoes the teacher have in the classroom? La maestra los tiene en su salón.
