  1. To give us life The message of the Church is that of hope. It reflects the extraordinary human solidarity willed by God. The sin of Adam had brought disintegration in humanity, but Christ came. We opposed this disintegration, and we have entered into a definite chained réaction in the opposite direction

  2. That is why after his baptism Jesus was immediately "led to the desert by the Spirit " F rom the beginning ofthe world, God carries the Passover, His Son, the new Adam, one that is forever living.

  3. The battle will be renewed, but the initial victory is final: nothing can question the “yes" of Christ to the Father. Each believer is called to enter in the "yes" and testify: God has given us "the joy tobe saved « (Psalm 50).

  4. The snake had warned: their eyes would be opened. Indeed, after eating the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden: "Their eyes were opened." Easter will open the eyes of Christians who will welcome, in amazement, God's plan: that is, to share with the sons of Adam, the grace of their brother Jesus forHis divine life. Yes I acknowlege my sin The Psalm speak, of course, of sin, of fault, offense, the harm that has been done ... But this prayer expresses a deep faith in the Lord God and his great mercy. It is a song to the love of God that gives life; despite of our miseries that hurt.

  5. The expression of the character of Adam allows the Apostle to express and emphasize his faith in Christ Jesus. "Because Jesus alone reign in the life of those who will receive fully the gift of grace ..." "All will become righteous, because one man obeyed."

  6. The forty days of trial of Jesus inthe wilderness evoke the great trials of the people for forty years in the wilderness, after leaving the country of oppression. With Jesus, the Scriptures will be fulfilled. Jesus is the new Moses awaited for God's time.

  7. Prayer to the Holy Spirit Holy Spirit, you who, after his baptism, have led Jesus into the desert, lead us throughout this Lent. That each of us will remember today how he won the victory from the tempter. That His fidelity to the Word of life will become our strength! That His obedience will give us a share in the mystery of Easter here on earth and in the Kingdom. Life will triumph! Help the Universal Church to announce the great hope of God: that humanity finds his life and enters in its joy. Amen.
