  2. Education, Transition, and College Readiness for DJJ Students The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice operates 27 secured campuses and 92 court services offices. Of the 27 secured campuses, 7 are YDC (Youth Development Campuses) and 20 are RYDC (Regional Youth Development Campuses) 650 youth = YDC, Female=47, Male=603 797 youth = RYDC, Female=96, Male=701 1,447 youth incarcerated (1/28/2014)

Education, Transition, and College Readiness for DJJ Students The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice is the 181st school system in the state of Georgia Georgia Preparatory Academy High School and Middle School PSC Certified Faculty/Administrators Year Round School DJJ Board/School Board DJJ Commissioner/School Superintendent SACS Accredited CEA Accredited

Education, Transition, and College Readiness for DJJ Students Georgia Preparatory Academy Curriculum Activity Packets (CAPS) Currently Self-Paced Fall 2014 – CAPS phased out in YDCs Fall 2014 – Implementation of CCGPS Carnegie Units Awarded State Mandated Standardized Tests Full Continuum of Special Ed Services
  6. Education, Transition, and College Readiness for DJJ Students Adult Education Program (GED) 16 years old Minimum of 6.0 on D-Level TABE Permission of a guardian (16, 17 years old) GED tests are offered through local technical colleges Tests are offered in the YDCs

Education, Transition, and College Readiness for DJJ Students CTAE (Career, Technical & Agricultural Education) Georgia Preparatory Academy partners with four technical schools to offer CTAE classes South GA Tech, Central GA Tech, Augusta Tech, and Oconee Fall Line Tech Courses offered are: Cosmetology, Collision Repair, Automotive Maintenance, Computer Applications, Horticulture, and Construction Students are dually enrolled and can receive a Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC)
