Does Jesus’ ascension in AD 33 help us understand what Jesus did in October 1874? • Act 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. • Act 1:10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; • Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. • Mat 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. • Luk 11:21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: • Luk 11:22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armor wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils. .
