  2. Jaw Fracture (collision sports) • MOI • Direct blow • Most frequently at frontal angle • S/S • Deformity, pain when biting down, bleeding, numbness • TX • Immobilization, refer

  3. Jaw Dislocation (TMJ, temporal mandibular joint) • MOI • Blow to open mouth • S/S • Locked open position, teeth aren’t symmetrical • TX • PRICE, NSAIDS

  4. Facial Laceration (collision, contact sports) • MOI • Direct force with sharp object • S/S • Pain, bleeding, obvious tearing of skin • TX • Wound care, refer for stitches if necessary

  5. Nasal Fracture • MOI • Direct blow • S/S • Deformity and swelling at the bridge of the nose • TX • Treat the bleeding • refer

  6. Tooth Fracture • MOI • Blow to jaw. Above or below gum line, injury to pulp • S/S • Pain & bleeding, loose or missing part of tooth • Rule out laceration and brain injury • TX • Cap tooth, refer to dentist

  7. Partial, Complete Dislocated Tooth • MOI • Direct blow • S/S • Missing or dislodged tooth • TX • Manually replace tooth if possible • Refer
