  1. DESY Summary Ingrid-Maria Gregor,Julia Fourletova,Tobias Haas, Katsumasa Ikematsu, Tatsiana Klimkovich,Ulrich Koetz,Lukasz Maczewski, Alessandro Montanari, Carsten Muhl, Jolanta Sztuk Testbeam Infrastructure and Magnet Board Population JRA1 Meeting in Geneva January 26th 2007

  2. Magnet Arrival at DESY • PCMAG arrived at DESY on November 30th 2006 • Cryo-system and cables were set up by Japanese colleagues with the help from Carsten Muhl and DESY groups (cryo and power supply groups) • First ramping to only 10% of the field followed by a full field test

  3. Strayfield Measurement

  4. DUT Positioner • DUT positioner was delivered fully assembled and surveyed • Connection to computer and first tests in the lab without any problems • Ordered patch cables (30m) for the use in the testbeam area y f x Carsten Muhl

  5. Senor Boxes are Under Development • Mechanics design almost completed • 3 planes on one main structure • Each has different geometry depending on position • Each plane movable individually with small tool • Minimal distance between planes: 7mm • Maximum level arm: • Material: aluminum • All material non-magnetic • Materials were optimised for minimal thermal stress Carsten Muhl

  6. y z x Overall Construction Box 1 Box 2 Box 3 (DUT) Carsten Muhl

  7. Board Production • 15 board sets were send to DESY by Wojtek • Process of ordering parts was more difficult than anticipated • Last part will be delivered to DESY this week • Start of production: February 7th 2007 • Will take only a few days • Wire bonding will be done at Strasbourg • Testing directly after production • Optical inspection • Electrical test • Setting of potentiometers • Testing after wire bonding (DESY) • Functionality test with senor • Response to Fe55 • Testing of a group of boards with DAQ • Incorporating trigger logic unit etc.

  8. Summary • Magnet from Japan delivered and tested up to full field (1.2T) • XYf table delivered and tested on bench top • Mechanical design of sensor boxes well under way • Board production delayed but under way
