Building • It took 2 years to complete the Eiffel Tower. • It took 132 workers and 50 engineers to build it. • It was complete in 1889, and was then the tallest structure in the world at 320 metres high!
Artist • The Eiffel tower was designed by Gustave Eiffel. • He was a French engineer that specialized in metallic buildings. • He also was a contributor to the Panama Canal and the armature of the Statue of Liberty.
Paris, France • The Eiffel Tower is the most famous structure in Paris, and possibly France. • The Eiffel Tower is 100% owned by The City of Paris. • It is located at 48.8583°N 2.2945°E
Fun Facts! • The Eiffel Tower has 2.5 million rivets. • The Eiffel Tower weighs 7000 tons. • 50 tons of paint has to be applied to it every 7 years to avoid rust. • It was built for the World's Fair to show that iron could be strong like stone while being a lot lighter.
