“Preparing the Soil”

slide6

What did these soils have in common?

The seed fell on all of them.

slide7

What happened to the seed?

The birds came and ate it up.

slide8

What happened to the seed?

It sprang up quickly …

but when the sun came up,

the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.

slide9

What happened to the seed?

The thorns grew up

and choked the plants.

slide10

What happened to the seed?

It produced a crop –

100, 60, or 30x

what was sown.

slide11

Who does this soil represent?

Anyone who hears the message about

the kingdom and does not understand it.

slide12

Who does this soil represent?

The man who hears the word

and at once receives it with joy.

But … he has no root.

slide13

Who does this soil represent?

The man who hears the word,

but is preoccupied with

the worries of this life and

the deceitfulness of wealth.

The man who hears the word

and understands it.

The evil one comes and snatches away

what was sown in his heart.

slide17

He lasts only a short time.

When trouble or persecution comes

because of the word,

he quickly falls away.

slide18

What happens to the word in his life?

The worries of this life

and the deceitfulness of wealth

choke it, making it unfruitful.
