S. History, CTE areas        2012-2013    Common Core and NC Essential Standards - Taught and Assessed Grades K-12 *CTE - Essential Standards will be embedded into the curriculum

Professional Development 2011-2012 • 5 Days of Common Core Training Day 1 - Aug. 19, 2011 Call for Change Module Common Core Unpacking/Crosswalks • Day 2 – Oct. 31, 2011 NC Falcon to be completed by Oct. 31 • Professional Teaching Standards Module completed by Dec. 16 • Day 3 – Jan. 23, 2012 Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy Module

PD 2011-2012 Continued… • Day 4 – Feb. 20, 2012 • Begin Understanding the Standards Module • Complete this Module by May 2, 2012 • Day 5 – June 12, 2012 Develop unit plans/curriculum unit High Yield Instructional Strategies (1st semester) • Homework and Practice complete by Sept. 30 • Identifying Similarities and Differences complete by December 16
