The goal of this Guidebook is to: Improve consistency and transparency of assessments Increase granularity in assessments Outline the process to assess emerging industry issues Foundations/expectations/requirement for the NERC portion of the assessments Provide a framework for conducting comprehensive and independent assessments This Guidebook will be a reference for regional entities and registered entities, and is organized to clarify reliability assessment expectations and objectives. It is intended to document expectations and provide a comprehensive outline for reliability assessments. RAG Scope

The deliverables are: Draft Guidebook for approval at the September 2008 PC meeting for use during the 2009 LTRA work Process recommendations addressing: Differences and inconsistencies that may arise to further refine the Guidebook Review/feedback about subjects completed and subjects requiring enhancement Proposed completion of an updated Guidebook in the 3rd quarter of every year to support the subsequent year’s assessments RAG Scope

    4. Scope developed Outline Prepared Statement of Work for Industry Experts Drafted Additional Representation desired: Tom Burgess (Chair), Jeff Mitchell (RFC), WECC representative or staff ERCOT representative or TRE staff Mark Lauby (NERC Staff) RAG Status

    5. June 15 Draft Outline completed June 30 Industry review of the Guidebook Outline completed July Review and feedback with stakeholders July 30-31 Review and feedback with stakeholders at LTRA public workshop August 29 Guidebook preparation completed September 10-11 Review final Reliability Assessment Guidebook completed by PC October 30 Reliability Assessment Guidebook completed and launched RAG Schedule
