  1. Putting my best self out there Journey into Leadership “Celebration of Discoveries” Session Kuuipo Walsh 4/3/09

  2. Who am I? • Passionate about natural resources • Organize well • Am sensitive to the feelings of others • Want quality performance • Follow through • Self-depreciating • Afraid of making mistakes • Afraid of asking for help

  3. Reflections from Terryl Ross’ presentation • I will build a personal vision for myself, starting with a five-ten year plan. The vision will encompass what is important to me and the legacy I want to leave this campus.

  4. My Case Statement • The very least I can do in my life is figure out what I hope for. And the most I can do is live inside that hope. Not to admire it from a distance but live right in it under its roof. What I want is so simple I almost can’t say it: I want the world to be a better place when I leave it. I want to pay my rent for all the joy I’ve had in watching sunsets and wild things. - Adapted from Barbara Kingsolver and Dave Foreman

  5. Building my plan • 1 year Plan: I want to create influential natural resource maps • 3 Year Plan: I want my project to provide the best natural resource data together on on-line visualization tools • 5 – 10 Year Plan: I want to lead people in making better natural resource decisions
