  1. VV Minerals Paves The Way For BSM Industry

  2. Vaikundarajan, Managing Director, VV Minerals, represented the Beach Sand Mineral (BSM) industry to seek the elimination of Ilmenite, Rutile, Leucoxene and Zircon, from the atomic minerals list of the Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Act, 2015. http://vvmineralblog.wordpress.com

  3. Ilmenite, Rutile, Leucoxene and Zircon can be used in ceramics and hi-tech applications. Eliminating such minerals from the atomic minerals list of the MMDR Act, 2015 has the potential to create about 5 lakh jobs along with USD 1.8 billion in forex earnings. http://vvmineral.wordpress.com

  4. In an interview, Vaikundarajan said "They are not used in atomic energy production and the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) de-listed them from the list of prescribed substances with effect from January 1, 2007. But they have not been de-listed from the MMDR Act. Hence, we met Mines Secretary Balvinder Kumar recently to request to him to remove Ilmenite, Rutile, Leucoxene and Zircon from the list of atomic minerals in the MMDR Act.” http://vvmineralmining.wordpress.com

  5. VV Minearl Vaikundarajan also, raised a concern regarding Monazite. Monazite, contains 0.35 percent of Uranium and 6-10 percent of Thorium, which are rare earth minerals with a high demand worldwide. http://vvmineral-mining.blogspot.in

  6. "We urged the government to allow BSM producers to process Monazite, with essential control exercised by the DEA and the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board. The industry can give the Uranium and Thorium to the government and sell the rare earths, which will generate employment and forex," he said. http://vvmineralmining.blogspot.in
