Economic times with Harry Truman • Truman was president during the beginning during the Cold war and Korean war • Truman also be came president at the end of the Great Depression • He also assumed office after the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt • Truman had to see to the final defeats of Germany and Japan (hence the wars)

Politics with Harry Truman • Truman had one flaw as president, his ignorance for international affairs • Truman also had little to no time to prepare for presidency, he had to catch up in research on foreign relations • The first issue Truman faced was use of nuclear weapons against Japan. After which he bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki • Truman’s second issue was America's stance in international affairs, his decision made him one of the nation’s greatest presidents

Harry Truman’s Social Issues • Accusations of Truman’s corrupt nature dogged him since his early days in politics • The corrupt charges began as an effective political weapon used by his opponents, but they also occurred because some of his members of the administration did illegal activities • There where many, many protests against the cold war and Korean war little could be done to stop them. • The firing of MacArthur had much controversy socially • Also the arms build up, NS 68, and even some of Truman’s own words sparked some contravercy

Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida, to promote his "education program” when 9-11 was occurring • Bush went through many hard ships including the tsunami which interrupted politics at the white house for an moment

Bush’s Social Issues • Bush… Bush has been criticized many many… many times • One of his more controversial was during 9-11 he knew before he got to the elementary school that flight 11 crashed into north tower. Bush said quote “And I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower -- the TV was obviously on, and I use to fly myself, and I said, 'There's one terrible pilot.' And I said, 'It must have been a horrible accident.' But I was whisked off there -- I didn't have much time to think about it.” • An agent walked to him during the book and whispered that America was under attack book continued to finish the book • The is much more contravention about Bush to much for one power point
