  3. Remove the Laptop virus If your laptop does have a virus then take the following actions. 1: Enter Safe Mode 2: Delete Temporary Files 3: Run a Virus Scan

  4. Enter Safe Mode Do this by turn off and on again your laptop. You see anything on the screen then press f8 repeatedly. This brings up the Advanced Boot Options menu. From there choose Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter. Keep your laptop disconnected from the internet.

  5. Delete Temporary Files While your are in safe mode then you will delete temporary files using the disk cleanup tool: Go to the Start menu All Programs Accessories System Tools Disk Cleanup Scroll through the Files To Delete list & choose Temporary Files

  6. Run a Virus Scan Run the on-demand scanner first then your real time scanner. One of them should be able to identify the virus and remove it. But running both scanners increases your odds of success.
