  3. What is a Neighbourhooddevelopment plan? (NDP) • Agreed by Parliament 2011 (Localism Act) • Part of Local Planning process • Opportunity to contribute thoughts about • where new houses will be built • preserving green spaces, rural views, wildlife • what sort of housing developments • where business should be located

  4. What is happening in Sandon? • Your parish council agreed to form an NDP group in October 2017 • 4 Parish Councillors and 5 parishioners • Chelmsford City council agreed Sandon NDP process on 2nd November 2017 • Sandon NDP website: ndp4sandon.co.uk • Questionnaire sent out February 2018

Some of your comments about housing We need more houses to accommodate the growing younger community who still wish to stay and live in Sandon We do not have the infrastructure for large scale developments Spacing between new houses should be maintained according to existing. The village envelope should not be extended

Draft Vision Sandon will be a village community, clearly separated from neighbouring settlements by green space, preserving a rural character Small housing developments will maintain a mix of housing size and type with good access to the Park and Ride by foot and bike This and any other essential building growth, must acknowledge the concerns of Sandon residents about present infrastructure, as traffic and roads, medical and educational facilities are already working to capacity
