A Level Reforms • Majority of Students enrolled on a 2 yr course • Underperforming students or those who have just met the entry criteria may be entered for As • All Other will sit Internal PPE exams • These grades will determine entry into Year 13 and inform UCAS predictions.
Interim Monitoring • Review your own progress with your tutor 4 times per year- Academic Tutoring • Find out how many more marks you needed to achieve the next grade up • Practice how to get there!
Target Setting • For exam grade targets we use ALPS (A-Level Performance System) • For each course, students are given a Estimated grade based on their GCSE results • Aspirational but realistic
Academic Passport • All places are on a probationary basis. • A way of monitoring your suitability for each of the chosen courses. • A way of monitoring how well the students have adapted to Sixth Form life.
Academic Passport • Helps focus new Year 12 students. • Gives students the best chance of success. • Helps ensure students are on correct courses (avoids wasted year & poor results). • Gives early opportunity for intervention if problems arise.
