  1. Board Game Projects Objective: To create a board game based on the story “The Masque of the Red Death,” using at least four symbols from the story

  2. Requirements: • You must work in groups of four. (Period 1-2—Six groups of four; Period 11-12—Five groups of four and two groups of five) • 2. Each member of the group must contribute time and materials.

  3. You must use at least four symbols from the story. • Examples: • A. Rooms—Required—They must be in the correct order. • B. Clock • C. Red Death • D. Prince Prospero • E. The Abbey/Castle

  4. The Partygoers • Masks • The Windows

  5. You must include typed directions/rules to describe how your game should be played. The directions should include your game’s name, an objective, a list of materials you will need, the rules (in the correct order), and a description of how a person can win your game. • Example on next slide!!!

  6. Escape the Red Death Objective: Materials You Will Need: Rules or How to Play: This should, by far, be the most detailed section of your directions. Winner:

  7. Ideas to Think About • Game Board—What will you use? • Game Pieces—What will you use? • Symbols—Which will you use? • Objective—What will the purpose of your game be? • Pictures/Decorations—How will your game board look?

  8. 6. Game Cards or Extras—Will you use them? Which member(s) will create them? • Rules/Directions—Which person in your group will type them?

  9. Rubric Symbols—25 points Rules/Directions—25 points Creativity/Neatness—25 points Is your game playable?—25 points

  10. This is a GROUP project! All of your group members must contribute in order to receive a grade for this assignment. If I notice that you have not contributed time and materials, you will receive a zero for the assignment, even if the other group members receive a 100%!!!
