  2. Tutor at AWC San Luis LC Main Goals • Make students pass their math classes • Develop more independent students Secondary Goals • Clarify concepts to students • Introduce rules, theorems and properties to students

  3. Situation Some teachers give x amount of extra credit to a student who attends tutoring. Difficulties It is hard and tedious for teachers to take the names of their students out of the messy list.

  4. Thought process • Make the sign up sheet more neat. • Add a column named “teacher”. • Allocate a spreadsheet that displays in alphabetical order the tutee’s teacher’s names, then the classes in order. Finally, the name of the student that attends tutoring.

  5. Situation #2 • The employer wanted to know how many new students are going to tutoring. Difficulties • It takes too long to search for individual names in the sign up sheet.

  6. Solution • I designed an excel spreadsheet that takes all the names in the sign up sheet and compares them.

  7. Spread sheet process • For safety, the original information is copy into another sheet. • The names are arranged alphabetically. • The spreadsheet shows which students went to each tutor. • The status for each student is shown(new or repeated).
