About the Organization • Mission • The purpose and mission of Local Church Ministries is to encourage and support the local churches of the United Church of Christ in fulfillment of God’s mission. Local Church Ministries supports the pilgrimage of the United Church of Christ as a multiracial, multicultural, open and affirming, accessible to all church as it is lived out in and through the local church. It supports local churches in the core city, urban, suburban, town and rural settings and collaborates with local churches, Conferences, Associations, and related ministries of the United Church of Christ in the fulfillment of God’s mission.

About the Organization • Vision • Each Covenanted Ministry sustains its calling in a spirit of partnership with other Ministries, in covenant with the United Church of Christ, in discernment of the Spirit’s presence and call and as leaders for the United Church of Christ’s mission in and to the world. Each Covenanted Ministry shares a responsibility to work in a spirit of collaboration and consultation within and among its ministry teams…accountable for the vision held before the United Church of Christ by the General Synod.

  10. Covenanted Ministries: Common Responsibilities • Each Covenanted Ministry is responsible for insuring that the commitments of the United Church of Christ are honored in all dimensions of its life and work. These common responsibilities include:
