Welcome SCDSB Lead Teachers • Goals for today: • Gain a better understanding of ABEL and the ABEL Program • Learn about the different resources and tools that ABEL has to offer • Gain familiarity with two ABEL tools through the hands-on workshops • Collaborate with colleagues in your District • Establish the beginnings of your network of ABEL Lead Teachers in SCDSB

What is ABEL? • Advanced Broadband Enabled Learning • Founded in 2002 • Led and funded by York University (Toronto) and the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) • Provides members with innovative approaches to teaching and learning based on research • Provides a Professional Learning Program in the quest to use technology effectively in the classroom
