They wanted to be free and happy. When they arrived, they had nothing to eat. They didn't know how to grow plants. The Indians (native people) helped them and gave them corn, pumpkin and turkey. It was a great dinner for the Puritans. They were so thankful to the Indians. Since that time the Americans celebrate the Thanksgiving Day every year in autumn.

In some countries where Christianity3 is a state religion, Easter is a public holiday. Some European4 and other countries in the world have Easter Monday as a public holiday. In Canada, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday are public holidays. In Quebec5, either Good Friday6 or Easter Monday are state holidays.
