  2. Marooned… Boating??? And … no longer a part of village life … Due to excessive pesticide & fertilizer use in Agriculture, fishing is no longer a viable occupation !!!

  3. So… in a village flood situation ? This is now their only option !!!

  4. BUT there is an alternative !!!

  5. Boating … an important part of river life !!! As produce transportation… people transportation… and door to door marketing !!!

  6. Water water every where … And not a drop to drink !!!

  7. Marooned once again !!!

  8. If suitable fastenings not at hand, ground anchors can be used

  9. Embankment strengthening Alternatives…

  10. Lower portion of house sustains major damage in traditional house construction during flood situations

  11. Villagers prefer to live in their traditional houses, as they are better suited to Indian climate and conditions, but they have a few draw backs being that they are constructed without foundations and damp course, if we avail to them, low cost appropriate technology such as in-situ produced interlocking blocks for the foundations and damp courses during the house reconstruction phase it will enable them a house suited to the environment and resistant to flood damage !!!
