Understand varying length of stay with CMHTs

Service users will have had a planned assessment and agreed treatment plan with defined goals

Some patients would be discharged and some would transfer to Primary Care

CMHTs will have broader patches with different skill mixes and specialist team members where appropriate

Teams may be based in fewer facilities but would continue to deliver services across a wide base

  • Development of IAPT (improving access to psychological therapies) model through negotiation with commissioners
  • Close working with CMHT project to manage shift in work

  • Work currently being undertaken looking at needs of people with learning disability and mental illness
  • This will be taken into account in future developments

Substance Misuse services - summary

    • National move to from harm reduction to recovery
    • Need to improve integration between service providers
