  1. Math By Jack Morad

  2. Unit 1 • We worked on mostly on: • Arrays • Making arrays with number models • Factors • Divisibility • Prime and composite numbers • Square numbers • Factor rainbows • and Exponents

  3. Example of square numbers • 1x1=1 • 2x2=4 • 3x3=9 • 4x4=16 • 5x5=25 • 6x6=36 • 7x7=49 • 8x8=64 • 9x9=81 • 10x10=100

  4. Unit 2 • We did: • Estimation • Number hunts • Open sentences and number stories • Comparing reaction times • Extremely likely, very likely,likely,50-50 chance, unlikely, very unlikely, extremely unlikely • Magnitude estimates • Estimating and multiplying • Lattice method multiplication • and Place value puzzles This is how you do an estimation.121x267 Switch 121x267 to 100x300=3,000 Then do the regular one and see the answer and how close it was to the estimation.

  5. Unit 3 • We mostly did angles • Population data • Unofficial census • Finding angle measures • Angle measures • Angles in figures • Odd shapes • Tessellations • Sums of angle measures • Polygons and their To find an angle’s degree, you get a geo-template and line up the line were the arrow is not pointed and see what number it is closet to.

  6. Unit 4 • We did… • Division • Distances • Estimate and calculate quotients • Division number stories with remainders • Variables • An example of division: 81/9=9

  7. Unit 5 We worked on Parts and whole fractions, mixed numbers, fraction sticks, equivalet fractions, decimal numbers, decimal comparison, percents, graphs, Circle graphs, collecting data, fractions. What is a percent? A percent is a is like a decimal. Say you have 100 pennys. And you hve only 50. that would be 50%.

  8. Example of a decimal A decimal is a sort of the brother of the percent. It looks like this: 0.23 or like this 10.39

  9. fraction • A fraction is also a brother of percents and decimals. It looks like this: 47/100

  10. Mixed number • It looks like this: 1 and 1/3

  11. Improper fraction • An improper fraction is sort of like a pig compared to a english gentleman. It looks like this (we also call it the problem child.) 37/7. • Isn’t he just ugly?!
