  6. Mission statement challenges • Are we willing to be held accountable for the various components of the mission? • Is the time horizon as far as we can see?

  7. The mission of First Parish Plymouth is To enrich our individual spirits, To cultivate our relationships with one another across the generations, To reach out to our neighbors, and To act for change in the world.

  8. Our Strategy A theory of what we MUST do if we are to thrive in the pursuit of our mission. No guarantees .

  9. Individual Family Congregation Community

  10. Our Strategy We must focus our efforts within the town of Plymouth for the next five years and we must consciously limit the number of community initiatives we take on and do a few things very well. We must offer a variety of worship and educational experiences that appeal to our members throughout the lifespan.

  11. Our Strategy We must become attractive to families, however defined, and provide opportunities for families and friendship networks to connect with one another and to be nurtured in their own growth and development. We must pay attention to and expend energy on becoming a caring community in which members feel safe, that they belong, and that the congregation will be attentive and responsive in both celebrating triumphs and providing help in times of crisis.
