  11. Recruitment, International and Outreach • Top 6 Performing HUM Markets (2004 – 2007 entry)

  12. Recruitment, International and Outreach HUM interest in LCW, FTV mainly PGT- (AMS figures disappointing) Possible potential for small numbers in all schools Agents – none British Council disbanded 6 Exchange Partners Toronto (Autumn 2008): Go Abroad Fair (UG/PGT/VIS), Idealist Fair (PGT), QS Fair (PGT), 1 exchange partner visit, 10 high school visits, 1 visit to potential SA partner Inactive until last year when added a few Canadian activities in the Autumn. 2008 entry numbers are not yet known, but 8 PGT applicants have paid a deposit as of 20 August. • Canada – 23 students

  13. Recruitment, International and Outreach HUM interest primarily in PSI, LLT and FTV – split between UG and PGT in interest Interest in HUM courses is scattered across large geographical area so difficult to target however interest in practical media based courses remains high. Job opportunities are good in the developing media industries in China. Autumn – BC fairs and agency exhibitions Spring – BC fairs and further agency visits and presentations at Chinese Universities (lecturers from HUM welcome to accompany/present) • China – 77 students

  14. Recruitment, International and Outreach HUM interest in LCW, ART, PSI – almost all PGT Further potential in ART, FTV, LLT, PSI Autumn: BC Fairs in Tokyo and Osaka with key agent fairs and visits around events Spring: BC Fairs and/or agent visits Summer: Pre-departure briefing Use of webcams between key lecturers and potential applicants planned • Japan – 44 students

  15. Recruitment, International and Outreach HUM interest in LCW, PSI, LLT in small numbers – PGT and PGR Further potential in LCW, PSI and LLT Autumn: FPP EduMedia Fair (UG/PGT), Education UK Schools and Universities Roadshow (UG) Spring: Yet to be confirmed, but likely PG fair and advertised interview sessions Relying heavily on agent this year to represent UEA and head up regular advertising campaign followed by interviews. Heavily reliant on scholarships, many of which are limited to science and technical subjects for PGR • Mexico – 19 students

  16. Recruitment, International and Outreach HUM interest primarily in LLT, PSI, FTV and ART (Museology) – predominately PGT in interest Interest in HUM courses is small relative to other subjects – however it would be possible with academic engagement to give university lectures to relevant subject groups which could stimulate interest in HUM courses. Diversification of agents has resulted in larger interest in HUM courses. Autumn – BC fairs and agency visits Spring – BC fairs, UKEAS Tour and further agency visits and presentations planned at Taiwanese Universities (lecturers from HUM welcome to accompany/present) • Taiwan – 20 students

  17. Recruitment, International and Outreach HUM interest in AMS, LCW, HIS, PSI, ART, FTV, PHI Further potential in all schools Autumn: 5 UEA staff visits (HUM funded alumnus Jenny) 21 Study Abroad fairs, 13 Study Abroad visits, 10 UG fairs, 48 high school visits, 10 PGT fairs, 4 conference attendances Spring: TBC once Autumn spend is known. Will cover as many events as possible until the budget is depleted. • USA – 361 (115 full degree, 246 VIS)
